VIOLA DA GAMBA

Graduated in Viola da Gamba under the guide of  Paolo Pandolfo, he has perfected himself in Viola da Gamba and early music following the course of Jordi Savall in Italy and Spain and in baroque cello following the course of Gaetano Nasillo in the School of Music of Fiesole.

In 2006 he has achieved the Academic Diploma of II level in Musical Disciplines, Interpretativo-Compositivo address, Chamber music.

With Viola da Gamba, from 1992, he has carried out an intense concert activity in Italy and abroad.

He has collaborated with prestigious chamber music groups exhibiting himself in very many Italian localities and abroad like as an example in Vienna (Musikverein – Brahms Saal) in Austria, Copenaghen and Odense in Denmark, Sydney in Australia, Saint Cruz and Seattle in U.S.A., Belgrade (Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts) in Serbia, Hamburg (Musikhalle – Studio E), Kiel and Wolfsburg in Germany, Hong Kong in China, etc.

After a course of improvement held from Jordi Savallhe has participated to the conclusive concert of the XLI Festival of the Porta Ferrada in Sant Feliu de Guixols (Spain) exhibiting himself with ensemble “Concert des Nations” conducted from Jordi Savall.
In Italy he has played with several ensemble and as soloist in most important reviews and seasons of concert like as an example in Udine where, for the season “Amici della Musica”, he has executed a program for Viola da Gamba as soloist in billboard, between the others, with Trevor Pinnoc.
With the vocal and instrumental group “Rinascenza” of Rome, in 1993, he has gained the First Absolute Prize of the T.I.M. (International Torneo of Music).

In the summer of 2007 he has begun to collaborate in France with the “Ensemble Baroque de Nice” conducted from Gilbert Bezzina with which he has had occasion to exhibit himself in many prestigious localities between which he detaches the theater of the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg (Russia) where he has held a concert with the soloist of the ensemble.
In 1995 and 2006 he plays in the Johannes Passion by J.S.Bach with the Regional Orchestra of the Lazio and the Markuschor di Monaco di Baviera directed from H.Boenstedt and with the baroque orchestra "Compagnia Lorenzo da Ponte” of Rome.
He has recorded for the Radio Vatican and has recorded for RAI and Channel 5.
He plays bass and treble Viola da Gamba.
He often exhibits himself as soloist or in duo with the harpsichord with programs in which he presents all the main composers who wrote for this instrument from Ortiz to Forqueray.
He has recorded 7 Compact Disc of which one as soloist of the J.S. Bach sonatas for Viola da Gamba and Harpsichord.
